Sold Out 20th Annual Luncheon of Hope raises $69,500!

SUDBURY, ON –The Northern Cancer Foundation (NCF) and the Luncheon of Hope Committee were very excited to welcome acclaimed entrepeneur, author, and breast cancer survivor Linda Ockwell-Jenner. Linda drew on her own experiences as a three-time cancer survivor and some well-placed humour to captivate the 600 attendees at the Luncheon of Hope. Linda’s appearance was once again generously sponsored by Vale.

“Even after 20 years, I still get blown away by the support our community shows for the Luncheon of Hope. This year, $69,500 was raised. We are so thankful for the outpouring of support from our special guests, community, sponsors and attendees, ” says Tannys Laughren, Executive Director of the Northern Cancer Foundation.

To date, the Luncheon of Hope has raised over $914,500. With these funds, important breast-cancer research equipment is being purchased for the Health Sciences North Research Institute. Currently, the Luncheon of Hope is supporting the purchase of an IncuCyte Live Cell Analysis System which allows researchers to acquire and analyze cell imagery around the clock, providing an
information-rich analysis that is easy to achieve. The IncuCyte system costs $150,000.
