North East Local Health Integration Network

The North East Local Health Integration Network (NE LHIN) is dedicated to leading a high quality integrated health system for people living in Northeastern Ontario. The NE LHIN plans, funds and works to integrate health services across the region.  The NE LHIN is also responsible for the delivery of quality home and community care services for people who call Northeastern Ontario home.  As a health system manager, we need ambitious, creative people who are motivated to make a difference in their community, prepared to challenge the status quo and ready to use their diverse skills to strengthen the system of care for Northerners. The NE LHIN is seeking a dynamic individual to lead health care system improvements in the Cochrane Sub-Region, making it more a seamless and client-focused system.  Reporting to the Director, Sub-Region Strategy & Planning, this position will be responsible for developing strong relationships with health service providers in their area.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

·         Work across the health and social service continuum with various stakeholders to strengthen services for Northerners.

·         Support, liaise, and consult with the health service providers to review and improve performance.

·         Lead, facilitate, and encourage integration opportunities within sub-region area.

·         Support implementation of Alternative Level of Care (ALC) Avoidance Framework, Health Links philosophy of care, and other key initiatives.

·         Negotiate and monitor accountability agreements for all LHIN-funded health service providers within geographic region.

·         Support service delivery and quality improvement with Home and Community Care services.

·         Work closely with performance, decision support and other portfolios within the LHIN.

·         Lead quality and improvement initiatives across the health care system.

·         Responsible for capital projects within the area.

·         Assume other leadership accountabilities as the health system evolves.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

·      Post-secondary education in a healthcare-related field, finance, business administration, research or equivalent.  Masters level education is preferred.

·      A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a health care environment.

·      Experience in negotiating/dispute resolution and working with a wide range of health care professionals and organizations.

·      Demonstrated understanding of the Ontario health care system as well as demonstrated experience in community outreach, consultation and stakeholder management.

·      Demonstrated experience with facilitation techniques and processes, including experience developing and facilitating complex session involving diverse stakeholders.

·      Experience and training in LEAN/Quality Improvement methods and project management are considered assets.

·      Experience working within culturally diverse population groups, including Francophones and Aboriginal/First Nation/Métis is an asset.

·      Certified Health Executive (CHE) is an asset.

·      Superior oral and written proficiency in both French and English is a requirement.
