Home care serves individuals of all ages with a wide range of health problems and disabilities at home, school and at work. Home health care services may be purchased directly by an individual, covered by private insurance plans or publicly funded. In Ontario, Community Care Access Centres handle publicly funded home health care. Assisted living programs provide support, including equipment and medical supplies, so that people may live independently in their own homes for as long as possible.
